April-May-June Birthdays

Remember my month-long birthday celebration? Well, this is still kind of part of it, and more! Sheh, Gabu, Ate Lanie and I joined forces to celebrate our birthdays, following the first celebration when our friend, Melay, visited Manila.

Melay’s Visit and the First Quarter Celebrantion

Melay migrated to England few years ago to be with her husband, Clive, who is very dear to Angels. The mega visit was joined by celebrating the birthdays of Ate Malou, Ate Rina and Melay. The preparation was totally craaaazy! Hahahaha! How could I forget that? But it turned out perfect anyway. With the kiddie games -- sack race, hampas-palayo and pinoy henyo -- we enjoyed it so much and the pasalubong from Melay of course!

How nice to see out matching shirts :-D Pakulo yan ni Ate Lanie. I got mine for free + dog tag!

Second Quarter Celebrantion

I have to mention that the northen-ers were the first ones to arrive at Ate Lanie place – not the usual scenario. We used to be late every get together, but not on that day. Hahaha! Bakit nga ba?

The cake was awesome! It was gift from Melay and Clive.

Busog na busog nanaman ako, at may take out pa. Next is Madie’s birthday celebration!

Another Year

So, another year has gone by, another Angelsversary for us! 10 years have passed and the angels are still here.

And look who's late! It's me! Hahaha. It was really a busy week for me. I never had Christmas shopping this year because of White. Ninang is so poor! But I managed to get some little presents for the kids. SM saved me!

The party hosts! Our group's mommies - those who keep the little sisters well taken care of. Thank you!!! This year, we got to have special events to celebrate aside from our year-end party, it's Pauline's birthday. Ate Lanie took care of the awesome foodies!

Ate Rina also cooked for our lunch-dinner party

The games! Sheh prepared several games as always and we had so much fun: Pinoy Henyo E-Zone Edition and Guessing Game.

... This picture can prove it!

These kids are always present and every event, they get bigger and bigger. Manang mana sa mga ina!

Here's what I got from Sheh, a teflon!

Next year, we are going to spend the year end party at Miciano's Residence!!!!!

In three years of my blogging career, I have written several posts about the precious memories I have shared with the angels.

The Joys of Mothers

Once more, I met half of my “inaanaks” - hehehe, parang ang dami dami nila, by the way, apat lang naman sila! LOL :-)) So I met the two of them, Pauline and Gabriel, at Rafael’s christening. Madie was there earlier but I was not able to catch her because I came very very late. I was the last visitor actually. Aiden could be there earlier also, but I'm not sure.

Meeting up with them never fails to cheer me up! ^_^v Kaya kahit malayo ang byahe, nakakalimutan ko na ang pagod. Hearing new “kwentos” about their kids, how they are actually growing up – is like cherry on top, the best stories!!! Naaalala ko din kasi yung experiences ko with Jelly and Karla, really some good memories to keep inside my mind and my heart… :-)

Our next get together would be by the end of 2010. Can’t waaaaait! See you Angels!

Pauline and Gabu (picture from Ate Lanie's Facebook) Panakaw!

Gabu and Rafael (picture from Ate Rina's Facebook) Ninakaw ko ulit

Now here is Tinay's Little Madie (alam nyo na, ninakaw ko din from Tinay's profile)

Antuah's HipHop Aiden, Hehehe! Ayos to ah

Needless to say – my friends are very blessed to have these kids. Although, aside from love, it also takes a million of courage, patience and understanding to raise their “makukulit” yet adorable children and I still see them being grateful despite the challenges.

The only thing that keeps me going is knowing that someday I will have that joy too, the joy of being a mother! Weeeee :-)

Lazy Week

I have to credit Darwin for this…

Darwin: “Who is the son of Charles Babbage?”

            … (sino?!)

Darwin: “Si modern computer… because Charles Babbage is the father of modern computer.”

Hahaha!! :-D Pasensya na, I have been so stressed lately and this joke just got funnier to me than everyone else does! LOL ;-D

Why stressed? Kasi lagging kulang ang tulog ko! Probably 4PM-1Am is my least favorite among my shift schedules. Parang hindi talaga ako nasasatisfy sa tulog ko. Sadly, it is still my choice to live with it :-/ Well anyway, I’ll be on morning shift again next week *excited!* -- NO MORE FOUR-HOUR TRAVEL Yahoo!

Simeon...

Meet our naughtiest sweetest irresistable kitty, Simeon.

Sometime in 21st of June, Ate Lanie and I had this conversation…

Meeyeow: “ate lanie, happy birthday!!!”

Lanie: “salamat pero ulitin mo ng june 22”

Meeyeow: “hahahahahhhaha”

Meeyeow: "mali yung alarm ko kainis"

Lanie: "bwhahahha"

Lanie: "bwhahhaha"

Meeyeow: "hahahhhaa"

Lanie: "baka mali un date setting"

Meeyeow: "hahaha, malamang"

It was my calendar’s fault! Hahahaha! It was accidentally set to alarm a day before June 22! So masyado palang advanced ang greetings ko! LOL. Then I greeted her again the next day. :-)

San Juan Feast…

June 24 is celebrated in our town with water fight!!! Waaaaaa! Yes, water fight! Coincidentally, the tide is high on this day. Water on the rivers is high enough to flood the roads. People are everywhere outside their home, drinking beers, drenching water and kauging at each other. Who doesn’t love water fights?! Unfortunately for me, it becomes legal on this day!!! Every 24th of June every year, I have to struggle going to school/work because everyone outside was trying to douse water on me! I don’t really want to be a KJ (kill joy) but please spare me!

My worst San Juan feast experience in Cavite was in College where drunken men threw a bucketful of mud water on my jeep as early as 7AM! I really had to go back home and take a day off. :-( Even if I was turning red with anger because my white blouse turned black, I was not able to confront those BULLIES because they already flew and hid across the street corner into an alley! DAMN!

I just hope it won’t happen again TODAY! T_T

It won’t happen again NEXT YEAR! ^_^

Happiness Is Having Dinner With The Angels

“T’was a very simple yet fun

get together. Tnx 4 coming.”

-Lanie A. Alaman

Nothing has stopped us from going back to our favorite meeting place, a place somewhere up there where the angels are always most welcome. I would say it felt like I had a long trip again since my road trip in Bicol. I had to commute for 2 hours, no traffic, just pure trike-jeepney-bus-trike rides. The long-planned get together cum Pauline’s birthday party was the one I always look forward to. Nothing has changed – the same food we love to share with, the funny stories that never gets old and the friendship we will treasure for a lifetime.

Ate Malou was with her sister Love. Nanay Omeng, Tinay, Owen and Madie were there and I came after them, then Sheh and Antuah with Aidan.  Paul was grilling the hotdogs and Ate Lanie was frying the fish balls when I checked on them. Ate Rina, Marlone and Gabu were also present. Sadly, Melay wasn’t there for the nth time ...:( but anyway, here’s my top 5:

#5.. The weird wall-climbing frogs around the house that scared us, one even went on my legs. Eewww!

#4.. A pack of Hany as give away from Antuah (which her aunt gave to her as gift, hehe)

#3.. The mouth-watering chicken sopas, hotdogs, pork barbeque, cake, grilled squid, and fishballs prepared with love by Tatay Paul and Nanay Lanie

#2.. The priceless reactions from my inaanaks after receiving their gifts

#1.. The clear skies with the blue moon, twinkling stars and the cool december breeze while we babble about the past and the future of a long-lasting friendship.

Marc dropped by for a while, but he was not with me and it just so happened that he was around the neighborhood. That was the first time for them to see us a meter apart after a long while which I understand why they were so teasing us to death. Hehehe.

Next get together… is Tinay’s birthday!
