The Joys of Mothers

Once more, I met half of my “inaanaks” - hehehe, parang ang dami dami nila, by the way, apat lang naman sila! LOL :-)) So I met the two of them, Pauline and Gabriel, at Rafael’s christening. Madie was there earlier but I was not able to catch her because I came very very late. I was the last visitor actually. Aiden could be there earlier also, but I'm not sure.

Meeting up with them never fails to cheer me up! Hearing new “kwentos” about their kids, how they are actually growing up – is like cherry on top, the best stories!!! Naaalala ko din kasi yung experiences ko with Jelly and Karla, really some good memories to keep inside my mind and my heart… :-)

Our next get together would be by the end of 2010. Can’t waaaaait! See you Angels!

Pauline and Gabu (picture from Ate Lanie's Facebook) Panakaw!

Gabu and Rafael (picture from Ate Rina's Facebook) Ninakaw ko ulit

Now here is Tinay's Little Madie (alam nyo na, ninakaw ko din from Tinay's profile)

Antuah's HipHop Aiden, Hehehe! Ayos to ah

Needless to say – my friends are very blessed to have these kids. Although, aside from love, it also takes a million of courage, patience and understanding to raise their “makukulit” yet adorable children and I still see them being grateful despite the challenges.

The only thing that keeps me going is knowing that someday I will have that joy too, the joy of being a mother! Weeeee :-)

Run Jelly Run

With only few days before her first running event, we were both ... *ecstatic*. But then, I was still a bit of scared that she might faint along the running track! Hehehe! I still remember when I brought her to one of the ITC summer outings in Mindoro and on the first night, she fainted after our night swimming. Naloka si Tita ng bonggang bongga! Fortunately, nothing serious happened that night.

She’s 12 now and sporty!

Congratulations Jel for finishing 5 kilometers in 52:08.04 minutes! Tita is so proud of you! Our long term goal... be running with Karla!

My First 5K

Reaching the finish line was, for me, like hugging your parents on your graduation day after you get your medal. It was an extraordinary feeling and one of the proudest moments of my life. Photographers were line up just beneath the finish banner, waiting eagerly for the runners to get an extraordinary shot all the way through their high-end lenses, and I told my self, “kaunti na lang!”

This was actually about 50 meters away from the finish line. At this point, my back was still beating aching but I had to keep going! Wesley, thanks for tagging!

At the mid of the last kilometer, I had to be left behind by my running buddy, Gems, as my right back was already aching, a sign that I had to slow down. “Gems, una ka na, hahabulin na lang kita!” I reached the end of the race a minute after her. At the finish line, we were all-smiles! The 3-month training did pay-off! We waited and one by one, each of our colleagues has completed their own races (5k/15k).

Here are the happy runners

Me, Gems and Pem with the famous (pala) Coach Rio. Everybody was eager to take pictures with him, and so we did kahit hindi pa namin sya masyadong kakilala.

Amazingly, I met my old college classmate, Wesley, at the race whom I never saw in ten years! It was very nice to see him again. Another amazing thing, I saw Che, my ex-officemate posted pictures on Facebook at the same spot we had our pictures taken! We did not see each other at race but she confirmed it on FB ;-D I look forward to see them on my future races.

Three months of training and preparation was fun as I was with my friends. It wasn’t actually easy to get yourself jogging in the middle of the night at Ayala Triangle but with them, with similar goal to get fit, have fun and have a balanced life, we did it successfully.

I was very very happy that all went well as planned (from the race ... to our first weekend barkada mall date after the race), of course aside from finishing the race at 42 minutes!

The race was actually just the beginning of that crazy fun fun fun Sunday. We went to Dave’s place to pick up his daughter, Nicca, for our breakfast. Then we headed all the way to Libis Eastwood to have some carbo-loading-all-you-can-eat-breafast at Somethin’ Fishy. We had to offset the sweat of course! After that, we went straight to Warren’s condo and had some good sleep. At 4PM, though it was raining all day and roads were flooded, nothing stopped us going to MOA for our late lunch at Don Henrico’s Restaurant. Buffalo wings are great! Then for the final stop, we watched the overpriced P200 Inception movie! Awesome movie! That was actually our first metro getaway on weekend. We usually go out of town but nothing like that one.

That race is the start of another adventure in my life. I used to see fun run only on television! I am so proud I got to be part of it. I have to credit Brando for all the encouragements. My lifetime fun run goal is 1000k… and to ENCOURAGE OTHER FRIENDS TO JOIN!!!

Meter check: 5k out of 1000k ;-D

Good luck, Buds!

Takbo.ph RunFest 2010

I am terrible sport-minded person! – thinking sports can make me skinny again like I used to be in high school. I have to overcome this insecurity, SOON! I saw Gem’s post in Facebook about our coming running event! Shocks! I did not practice for a month!!!

With only two weeks left before the Takbo.ph RunFest event this year, I really need to practice again!!! I am just a bit worried about my right knee; it feels like something is snapping while walking, what more when running! It started aching one night at the office after double crossing my legs in sideways for several hours like the celebrities doing while on an interview on tv! :-/

“Celebrate Running” is the theme of this year’s RunFest to be held at the Fort Bonifacio on 25th of July and I will definitely celebrate with them. Beyond doubt, it would be a fun event with my friends! Another thing that I am actually excited about is the singlet with MY NAME on it. I happen to avail the personalized singlet for this event!!!

Special thanks to Brando for sharing his passion in running to us and for all the encouragements. I never thought I would be able join this kind of event. I only see this on tv before but soon I’ll feel the real thrill!!!

Next week, I’ll be on mid shift and practicing is never just an option – it is in my to-do-list!

The New Year and Me

Everything starts at one, and so, on the first month of this New Year… I welcome happy thoughts –- happy thoughts to begin with… ^_^

Our family reunion was a bit disappointing at first because BettyB and her family were not able to make it. Her British passport was not yet released by Queen Elizabeth. ‘Your Highness, you owe me an apology.’ Ooops, happy thoughts! Although they’re not coming, the balikbayan boxes are! Hehehe.

I can see my Kuya is very happy with his wife. Though they were not blessed with child yet, they were blessed with nieces who love them both so much. When he left five years ago, he’s a little bit skinny and now I think he gained muscles on his arms and chest. He’s more good looking right now. They arrived from Canada two days before the New Year’s Eve.

My long preparation for this gathering has already paid off with excitement and happiness to see that my family is complete again (almost). To patch up the disappointment, BettyB always makes phone calls to check the happenings so far. Sometimes she would tell us that she was making her call downstairs, away from Karla, because the little girl was very sad and sometimes crying when she knew that her mom was talking to us. Since day 1 when they decided to come here in the Philippines, Karla was one of the most excited among us about the reunion. Unfortunately, they couldn’t come.

On the night of 30th, the year-end party of my SisDoll’s childhood barkada happened for the 5th year. It was a tradition to them to gather their families to our house and party together. My brother sponsored the prizes for the games and the raffle. NInang Nina won the jackpot of P1000.

New Year’s Eve was the best. It was true for me on that particular moment that when you lose one, you gain more. Our first cousins and second cousins were there, sister-in-laws’ family was there, the family of my brother’s brother-in-law was there. We even had to order party tables and chairs for our guests. The special dance number from JellyPotpot and Jaja, the games and the raffles added to the fun! Our kasambahay, Ailyn won the jackpot price of 20 dollars, a cellphone and an all expense-paid trip to Galera. Hehehe. Others won P500’s, P100’s and P20’s.

We only bought few luisis, popup and baby rockets for the kids and the rest of us just watched the fire display on the sky. We had a nice view outside our gate because there were only few houses built in the subdivision so far. Kuya was embraced by his wife, SisDoll was with CoolJo and Jaja, and I was with JellyPotpot. We were all looking up the sky and shouting every time the sky was lighted by the dancing fires.

The finale was a very solemn prayer led by SisDoll.

Happy New Year everyone!

(Walang pictures kasi nahulog sa dagat yung camera, sira.)

Monday Sickness

Back to vacation mania… isang araw na lang!!!

Zen [8:39 PM]:

ang sarap na mag-liwaliw :))

Meeyeow [8:39 PM]:

oo nga eh

Meeyeow [8:39 PM]:

sobra

Gems already went to her trip for her hometown, Ilocos, earlier this evening. Sadly, she needs to go back at the office on the 31st. My December 24th schedule was cancelled, Thanks, so I don’t have to spend the Christmas on the bus, though I don’t really celebrate Christmas hehe.

I received 4 more gifts today, joining the other two I received last friday. Nakakahiya wala akong gifts sa kanila. I’ll surprise them na lang on New Year.

Speaking of New Year, I still got problem, not actually problem but just difficulty, choosing what to wear on our New Year Costume Party! I am actually the organizer – at dapat kina-karir ko to! I’ve got few options in mind:

v      Touch of 80’s (yuck)

v      Fairy – with magic wand and butterfly wings (eeeew)

(nope!)

v      Lara Croft – this is actually Gems suggestion, keri ko ba to? (gulp)

v      Pocahontas – mahirap hanapin ang costume (nuh)

Any suggestions?

Walang Oras Na Hindi Lumilipas

First time kong makasali sa isang costume party at hindi lang basta costume party, it’s a masquerade party! Badtrip.

Celebrations!

Despite the busy schedule in our project team, we had our year end party last Friday, just an hour to have a good time and a small dinner party.

I got my gift as wished :D

Just a few more hours after the party was my sister's birthday and another anniversary. Special days are meant to be remembered and celebrated even just in a simple yet unforgettable way.

To this Special Day! Cheers!

Akalain Mo!?

I am still paying for abusing my muscles and remaining strength since last Friday. This badminton tournament at Blue Racket in Makati City was a very memorable experience for me because I got four bruises on my right arm, muscle pain on my shoulder and armpit, aching butt, bukol on my forehead and a bruise on my right knee. ^_^

Pero naman…… makarating ba sa semi-finals??? hahaha! Here’s the preview of the game. Game 7 with Daisy and Chris was our last game.

Here are some of the photos:

Of course, meeting new friends was one of my goals. Some were those I only see their faces at the corridor or inside the elvator. But after the tournament, nagkakatawanan na.

Right after Game 7, we went straight to Zen’s apartment because I don’t think I could go back to Cavite to get my things for the Laguna overnight outing of our team. Zen has a nice place in Pasig ^_^. At 4pm, meeting place was at the Glorietta, with limited clothes, I just bought swim suit, shorts, top and a capri. At 7pm, we were at Laguna!

Ang s-a-y-a. Videoke, swimming, billiards, kain, inom ^_^v, kwentuhan, tsismisan, tulog. Yun na!

I was with the first group to go back to Makati City. At 7:15am, Zen and I bought breakfast at McDonalds. At 9:00am, I was already at home, I dressed up and gone for the 9:30am worship service at the church.

After church, I went straight to bed and woke up at 2:30pm. Ooopps, may isa pa palang pending task, grocery! I went to SM supermarket with my sis’s family. Super speedy shopping kami para maabutan namin ang The Singing Bee ^_^.

That’s my weekend. Next week, Divisoria adventure ulit with Raed…

Lindol Noong Sabado

Madali pa man din mahilo yon. Pagkalabas namin, nasa duyan sya. Natutulog.

Sabi ko, “Tay! Lumindol!”.

Diaries @ 10

I must admit, I am very amazed where blogging has taken me since I started writing last year. Today is my 10th month with Multiply!!! Ten fruitful months of sharing my life with you…

For most of you might ask why it has been a very important thing to me the months I have spent here writing… it is because I want to value the time this hobby has become my companion in my journey.

I stated it with a survey as my very first post I copied from another Multiply site. For a couple of months, no one knew except Raed about this blog site because I didn’t really want to promote it to anyone. My intension was to write blog entries like no one reads them except me. I wanted other people to discover this site by fate ^_^ (like most of my readers right now) and not me telling them the exact URL. Raed’s discovery about this was through Google.

Then a few months more, blogging to me became addictive. And one way or another, it really helped me cope up while I was facing a challenge in my life… And here I am right now, still up, kicking and liking the life I am having right now.

I had few blogs in Friendster several years ago but I don't update it anymore.

SisDolls Party

SisDoll is celebrating her 40th birthday, actually since yesterday pa, but the party is being done today. Her barkadas came at dinner time.

She is my eldest sister.Marami akong kasalanan sa ate kong ito. Pero napapatawad nya pa din ako. Hehehhe.

Ate Doll while having her manicure and pedicure

"Happy Birthday, Mama!!"

Jelly and Jaimie did this for their mom.

Hindi mawawala ang kainan.

Her babies including me!

Party

Parang fiesta sa 5th floor kahapon. My boss and a colleague, Dave, celebrated their birthday last July and my boss’ regularization as I have mentioned yesterday. People from 3rd floor were also there.

Ang daming pagkain!

I did not eat that much, nahihiya pa kasi ako makigulo sa kanila. And it took me a lot of efforts to go on a second round, naiuna ko kasi ang desert :D nahuli yung kanin at ulam. Hahaha. And we had a great time.

A Trip To Remember

Four years from now, we will visit London for the 2012 Olympics. I have gathered several enthusiastic friends to join this trip to remember. Naks! What a plan. Parang pupunta lang ng Quiapo. Weeeeee! :D

I am writing this so we will remember.

The 30th Olympics

This year, the Olympics is on Beijing and the first day is on 08/08/08 at exactly 08:08:08 <-- I just added this. Hahahaha. Anyway, I am more concerned about the “bonggang bonggang” 2012 Olympics in London. They are already starting to build the Olympics stadium. You can get more information in their official website.

The Plan

Ø       Joiners will take 2-4 weeks of vacation

Ø       Valid passport is a must have (and other Visa requirement ek-ek)

Ø       Individual budget of at least P70,000.00 ( assuming that the round-trip ticket costs P60,000.00)

Ø       Everyone will stay at my sister’s place in Oxford (just an hour and a half away (without traffic) from London)

Ø       Aside from the Olympics, city tours will also be part of the trip

The Excitement

It is nice to have some long term goal to look forward to. I am sure this is feasible. :D Four years is long enough to save some money! We’ll see!

^_^

Start:     May 13, '08
Location:     House
