Candies For Everyone

I have a canister with candies on my table beside my computer. So everyone who passes by my area can pick candies there. I’ve been having it since I was on the 3rd floor.

How sweet? may mga naghulog ng donation :D Shoot! I am now obliged to re-fill the canister with candies all the time.

The Other Side of Sharing

I just received my charger I lent to someone from other team/project. I handed over the charger to him earlier in a very neat and cord-tied-up-with-rubber-band condition but after few hours when he returned it back to me…

He put it on my table and it looked like this… and the built-in rubber band is missing

Guys, are you always like that??

I don’t actually mind the extra effort I have to do to tie again the cord but it just gave me a bad impression to the person.

Pizza From a Friend

It is Gemz’ birthday on Monday but she decided to have a birthday leave on the said date. So the blowout bash got >> fast forward >> today. Gems were was the first one I got to get close with here in KForce. And that I think helped me a lot to adjust very quickly during those days. I know her to be an avid fan of Sponge Bob Square pants cartoon, a very sweet Tita to her niece, certified Kikay and shopping addict, WrapTrac boys favorite, a girl who has a very contagious laugh (pag tumawa sya, mapapatawa ka na din) and hopefully a professional photographer someday. Also, it was unknown to me that she was Flooney’s college mate who also happens to be one of my best buddies in La Salle. Oh, what a small world!

I never felt any dull moment with her. I would say our personalities complement each other for the reason that we have almost opposite characters as I have known her for over 6 months. She has a very strong personality who speaks out what she has in mind; while I am the one who is a silent type and very secretive as she claims :D.

The pizza is almost finished. Sarap.

Advance Happy Birthday, Gems.

I wish her good health and a happy life!

I had this conversation with her this afternoon:

Meeyeow [4:37 PM]:

Thanks for the pizza!

I was also able to visit my ex-team. It feels good to see them and be with them down there at the third floor again.

The Wait Is Over

At last, my evaluation result was finally discussed to me last night. Though two weeks delayed, it was really worth waiting for. An hour before I went home, my boss invited me for that purpose. We went inside the pantry because all conference rooms were occupied at that time. Nice place, hehehe, nag amoy Adobo ata kami kasi may nag init ng ulam sa microwave. @_@

The comments were discussed to me one by one. I was amazed to read Ms. Rome’s and Sir Ted’s comments on my key strengths because they have written there things about my work that I wasn’t really expecting to be noticed that way. I thank them for recognizing my strengths and my contributions since Day 1.

For me, my evaluation wouldn’t be complete without giving me areas for development. And I have one. I always have a room for improvement. And with that, I am committing myself to work for it and do better…

And the verdict: ….Recommended for Permanency :) wooohooo

This is my 130th entry <^.^>

Just A Day Starter

Hmmm, what is new?

I am excited about the new Dakki Pillow I ordered from a colleague. It is 16”x16” Pooh face designed pillow with tassel on the sides. I hope it is not too big for my office chair. I was actually looking for a Tigger design kaya lang wala yung sya lang. So I opt to have Pooh na lang.

The result of my evaluation is… wala pa din :D I am not excited about it anymore. But I am still curious and interested about the “Needs Improvement” section. Sabi ng iba, for formality na lang daw yung document. Pero iba pa din kasi yung nakikita mo na yung certification na talagang regular na ako.^_^ Yey! I can smell a lot of SL and VL.

First week of the month, bayaran nanaman ng bills sa bahay. Electric, water, cable, telephone and … nevermind. SIsDoll texted me, "...Deadline on Friday..." Hay, kaunting higpit pa ng sinturon at makakaraos din (someday).

It’s 3 minutes before I start to work. Some people patapos na ang araw nila, ako nagsisimula pa lang. Madami pang tasks for today at status reporting nanaman bukas waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Driving Me Crazy

I still have no updated news about my previous post.

Okay, okay…

According to Book Six of the Philippine Labor Code (sorry, I am getting legal assistance on this):

Art. 281. Probationary employment. Probationary employment shall not exceed six (6) months from the date the employee started working, unless it is covered by an apprenticeship agreement stipulating a longer period. The services of an employee who has been engaged on a probationary basis may be terminated for a just cause or when he fails to qualify as a regular employee in accordance with reasonable standards made known by the employer to the employee at the time of his engagement. An employee who is allowed to work after a probationary period shall be considered a regular employee.

Whew! What a relief!

Today is the BIG day!

Hahaha. I am getting insane about this.

:: News Flash : August 27, 2006 8:30pm

My boss confirmed that my evaluation is yet to be consolidated by them. ^_^

I need to wait until end of this week.

6th Month

It is exactly my 6th month here in KForce today. But my boss is giving me no signs that he is going invite me for a meeting to discuss my regularization. ;(

Eto, wait lang ako....

The sky is very dark outside. 4:30pm pa lang parang gabi na.

An Artwork

Here are pieces of wallpapers created by Brando (Leandro Losaria), one of the artistic members of DotNet Team. He put together this last night while getting some muse to sleep. This is actually a wallpaper. Hulaan nyo kung nasaan ako :D

And to all aspiring photographers who want to meet other KFORCE photographers and share interests with each other in photography, I think he is organizing a workshop here in 5th floor. You know whom to ask if you are interested. :)

The Team (II)

Just after the party last Friday in our office, we had our team picture. Brando took advantage of the moment that everyone is present. The same picture was also sent to our UK clients. They were happy to see pictures of people whom they only talk through email/phone/IM.

One client said: Salamat all!  It's magaling to put faces to names.He even wrote tagalong words; I think he asked someone on-shore to translate his message.

Party

Parang fiesta sa 5th floor kahapon. My boss and a colleague, Dave, celebrated their birthday last July and my boss’ regularization as I have mentioned yesterday. People from 3rd floor were also there.

Ang daming pagkain!

I did not eat that much, nahihiya pa kasi ako makigulo sa kanila. And it took me a lot of efforts to go on a second round, naiuna ko kasi ang desert :D nahuli yung kanin at ulam. Hahaha. And we had a great time.

50/50

The funniest thing I have ever heard today: “Yes!, four days na lang, Monday na ulet!” Well, syempre kabaligtaran yan ng gusto nya.  I think what funny is that the one who said this has a deadline this coming Monday :D

We have three celebrations for Friday: my SisDoll’s exact birthday, Dave & Sir Ted’s (belated) birthday bash and Sir Ted’s regularization celebration. Free dinner for tomorrow! Weeee.

KForce Moments

While browsing My Pictures folder in my computer, after I saved some stolen gif’s in the web for my project, I came to notice few pictures I saved there from different KForce Events since February 2008.

Here’s my very first picture with my Wraptrac buddies. I should have missed half of my life if I haven’t met these cool guys.

This is my very first summer outing with Willis Offshore – IT

This one was our memorable UNO cards game with SharePoint Team

Eto naman, may premonition na ata na malilipat ako ng Team. I was here with the DotNetSupport Team, some Wraptrac Team and some WOL Team.

Now here’s the farewell party of our dear Ms. Erienne. She resigned after our summer outing. I hear a lot of good things about her. I feel sorry I didn’t have that chance to know her more. But I still do see here along Ayala. Four time na kaming nagkakasalubungan :D I am happy because 2 out of our 4 encounters, she was the one who greeted me first. I have this attitude na malayo ang tingin kapag naglalakad. At saka hindi ako tumitingin sa mukha ng tao kaya hindi ko agad nakikila yung mga nakakasalubong ko.

I enjoy my work and the challenges that I face everyday. :D Kaunting tiis pa, malapit na ang sweldo :D

Where Are The Photos Gone?

I want to start this entry by asking, “Where are the photos gone?” I remember Multiply has this advisory that they were going to delete links of the picture with higher resolutions but not the posted picture in the site. It was like this before, when you insert a picture in your blog, it automatically resizes the picture with higher resolution and the picture becomes clickable to allow viewing the actual size. They store it in some place. But now, these zoom-in versions will only be available in 30 days, after that goodbye pictures. I don’t understand why my blogs photos were gone :(

“I just want my pictures back!”

Anyway, enough of that. It is Friday again!!! Woohoo! For a typical employee like me who works from Monday to Friday, eh naka boundary na ika nga! Here’s another weekend to enjoy. Tomorrow I will be seeing my friends from La Salle. Infinity invited us in her new house in Bacoor and she is also having a welcome party as well because she just came from England few weeks ago. Of course, grocery day will be moved to Sunday.

“Ooops, it’s time to work!”

I need to finish tons of work today. It makes me feel proud, confident and worthy. AND working alone really requires extra miles of effort in order to achieve the goals. So help me God.

Bye for now. Ciao Ciao Ciao!

Friday na!

Days go by very fast; before you know it… it’s already Friday! It is another night to relax. I wish we had a  Friday-Party @ the office, all expense paid by the company @_@ my wild imagination. Hehehe. Yun bang kahit sa office lang… Why not even just an hour to bring all the employees to gather altogether and have some fun after a stressful week at work. Diba parang something to look forward to every Friday? :D

Tomorrow is Grocery Day! SM Supermarket/Hypermarket restores their grocery supplies during this day. Fruits and vegetables are fresh, new products are displayed. So tomorrow is really a good time to review my grocery list and visit the supermarket. :)

It’s Sweldo Week. Weeeeeeee.

This is the longest payday period so far in my stay here in KForce. I guess I need to wait for three more days to get my salary. :( Hindi naman ako masyadong gipit pero I need to save for something. Ang sarap ng feeling na may goals ka kahit pang ilang buwan lang. Sana matupad lahat. :)

I have been working here for 5 months. So One month to go before my regularization. I still have a month to stay harmless here in the company… Kung hindi, tsugi ako dito! Hehehe.

Being part of a one-man project, whew! Hirap talaga. I need to give an extra effort to make things work. Thanks to my ever patient Boss, he guides me in every step of the way. Good thing he is every strict with schedules and deliverables, I become more responsible in a lot of things especially with software developments and dealing with clients. I know sometimes we have opposite ideas about something but the good is we reconcile the difference (he’s very much open for that) and come up with a better idea. Beyond doubt, experience is a great teacher. Like any other project, I know I will face a lot of hardships as the plan goes.

Oopps, 2:05pn na pala. I need to start working. Madami-dami pa tong nasa task list ko. Until next time!

Sunday Is Sinigang Day

We were already up at around 4:30 this morning to go to church. We attended the first service and not the usual 9:30am schedule because CoolJo was on a night shift last Saturday. Since Sunday is a Church Day and also a Sinigang Day, I cooked Sinigang na Baka for our lunch. It has been a tradition at our home to cook Sinigang during Sundays. :D .. name it, Sinigang na Baboy, Sinigang na Baka, Sinigang na Hipon, Sinigang na Tanigue, Sinigang sa Bayabas, Sinigang sa Miso, Sinigang sa Kamias, Sinampalukang Manok at kung ano-ano pwedeng gawing Sinigang! Haha.

Earlier this morning, DaddyDemz picked the Banana Bud/Blossom (puso ng saging) from our neighbor’s banana tree. Nakalawit kasi sa bakod namin… I guess it is legal in the Philippine Law. :D So yung bunga ng Puno ng Saging eh nasa property na namin. Pero nagpaalam naman si DaddyDemz. Gusto nya daw ng Kilawin for tonight. He also harvested some of his Pechay, Okra and Talong. Maghilig sya magtanim. The rest of the ingredients for our SInigang were bought from the grocery. We change from Knorr to Maggi Sinigang Mix (fruity ang asim talaga) So buo na ang Sinigang! I got two thumbs up from DaddyDemz tastebuds ^_^

My weekend is ending… but without watching CSI: Las Vegas, New York and Maimi @ AXN!

Next week will be another tiring week at work but exciting. I have another presentation before the week ends. Kaya Mo Yaaaaan!

July is already on its 3rd week! Ang bilis!

Ang tagal pa ng sweldo.

I gained a kilo this week! Yehey! 6-7 more kilos to go.

My friend infinity has arrived the other day from London; I guess this is another exciting reunion of Angels.

DaddyDemz’s friend has also arrived from Australia yesterday. When we got home from the mall, their barkadas were gathered at our place… may Barkada-Nights-Out daw sila. Ay naku sa beerhouse nanaman ang punta ng mga matatanda.

I am thinking about my Canada application. Batotoy is already asking when I am going to submit it.

JellyPotpot and I had a great time at the mall yesterday. I gave her a treat for getting five 100%’s out of six Long Exams last quarter. Mana talaga sa Tita.

I’ll cook Adobong Pusit tomorrow for my baon.

And for my last thought for this day: I just hope some people just mind their own business instead of talking other people’s lives! I think this conveys a very clear message.

Life in the City

I had a very stressful week and probably also next week. I really thank God because it is Friday. Tomorrow I need to do a lot of stuffs: clean my room, go to the grocery, visit NanayRose and take a good rest because next week will be a tough week for me in the office, adding the bad weather during at night, hay…… and the rising transport fares and basic commodities!. If only time is unlimited for my project but I guess that will bea challenge no more. :D

Well, this is my new life in the city. It has been 5 months! It is rough but I really need this job financially and I guess a whole lot learning experience for me. :) You know I am really satisfied because I still got 8-9 hours of sleep! Knork! knork!

According to my colleagues, Mama Mia and The Dark Knight are good movies to see. Maybe I’ll watch it this weekend… :D

I just got the news that my Sister-in-Law, Piws, got into a car accident last night. Batotoy told us that she's alright now, she just need to have some check up and take plenty of rest. My brother even gave a joke that he's more concerned on the car damages.... they just bought it recently. My brother's family is living in Canada for 5 years now.

Sinbad Took Us to the Middle East

Dinner Dilemma

Every night, I and my dinner mates are always having a hard time deciding where to eat. For almost a month now, we have tried these ‘affordable chibugan spot’ over and over again (nakakasawa din paminsan):

Reyes Barbeque (@ Paseo Center)

McDonalds {near RCBC}

Jollibee {@ Tordesillas Street}

Kentucy Fried Chicken {@ L.P. Leviste Street}

Chowking {@ Villar Street}

Chowking {@ Dela Rosa Street}

Chilli Peppers {@ Valero Street}

Chicken Bacolod {@Paseo Center}

Goodah (@ Valero Street)

Greenwich {@Valero Street}

Eto naman yung not so so 'affordable chibugan', pero pwede na din puntahan pag may extra allowance:

Persia Grill {@ Valero Street}

North Park {@ Ayala Avenue}

Brother’s Burger {@ Ayala Avenue}

Shakey's Pizza

Pancake House

Dencio's

Gerry's Grill

Trying Something New

It was a bit rainy last night so we were just looking for a resto near enough from our building. Baby James suggested ‘Sinbad’ located along San Agustin Street and it was indeed just a few steps from our building. The place is nice, cozy and the sounds! –- really took us to the breeze of the Middle East.

Their menu is just a two-page book, so kaunti lang ang pagpipilian. No meal is less than a hundred bucks. It really took us almost 15 minutes to decide what to order. Sumasakit na ang ulo ni Wawa, ang mahal kasi! Hahaha. Then we decided to order Footlong Kebab which is good for 5-6 persons. Sarap! Even better than Persia Grill.

We had our dinner with happy stomach but empty pockets.

We’ll go back there maybe once a month :)

Farewell Party

Ms. Rome is leaving for US tomorrow. She is assigned as On-Shore Project Manager at Nashville. So as despedida, we had dinner at North Park in Ayala.

The place is quite small (but bigger than Persia Grill in Valero) for the lots of people visiting the restaurant. We went there at around 7:00 pm and it was dinner time so we waited for 30 minutes before getting free tables.

The food is great. I love the beef with broccoli dish and the yang chao. I had two rounds of the yang chao.

But most of all, it was the presence of the whole team that made the night special. The stories, jokes and punch lines are so memorable. Thanks to my Sony Cybershot camera phone, these moments were saved. Truly, Ms. Rome will be missed. She will be working there for a year and hopefully the rest of the team will join her soon after Ha ha ha ha.

One year is fairly long. Many things can happen. Maybe by that time, the team is already assigned to other projects; maybe my hair is shorter; or maybe I have a new boyfriend or even married or maybe I am happy being single. No one knows but that is something that I look forward to…
